Finns det verkligen ingen tråd om Theranos? Har jag missat sökningen? Jag börjar med en inledning så får vi se. Rättegången inleds just nu.
Elisabeth Holmes av fin släkt med höga backare grundade ett medicinsktekniskt företag för analys av små mängder blod. Hon hyllades av alla och företaget bedömdes värt $10 bn.
Tyvärr var allt bluff och nu inleds rättegången. Elisabeth Holmes riskerar 20 års fängelse.
Hon sägs planera det s.k. Svengali-försvaret. Hon kommer att hävda sig utnyttjad sexuellt och på andra vis av sin tidigare pojkvän, styrelsekollegan Sunny Balwani och kommer att försöka tippa hela byket på honom.
Hennes farfars farfars far av judisk ätt från Ungern grundade ett livsmedelsimperium som fortfarande existerar.

She was “the world’s youngest self-made female billionaire”, trumpeted Forbes magazine. The “next Steve Jobs”, said Inc, another business magazine that put her on the cover.
In 2014, Elizabeth Holmes, then 30 years old, was on top of the world. A Stanford University drop-out, she had founded a company valued at $9bn (£6.5bn) for supposedly bringing about a revolution in diagnosing disease.
With a few drops of blood, Theranos promised that its Edison test could detect conditions such as cancer and diabetes quickly without the hassle of needles. Bigwigs from Henry Kissinger to Rupert Murdoch invested.
But by 2015, the seams were coming apart, and within a year, Ms Holmes was exposed as a fake. The technology she touted didn’t work at all, and by 2018 the company she founded had collapsed.
US Treasury Secretary George Schultz, decorated Marine Corps general James Mattis (who later served in the Trump administration) and America’s richest family, the Waltons, were among her backers.
On stage with former US President Bill Clinton in 2015. At the time Ms Holmes was said to be the world’s youngest self-made female billionaire.

Jämförelsen med Musk är mycket relevant.
Musk sade att Teslaägarnas bilar själva skulle kunna köra taxikunder och tjäna pengar åt bilägarna. Det skulle ha varit klart förra året. Musks kusiner grundade SolarCity som Tesla köpte för $3 bn. Det var ett rufföretag som bl.a stämdes av WalMart efter det att 6 solenergitak brunnit på olika varuhus.
Just nu står även Musk infor rätta för SolarCity-affären. Aktieägarna har stämt honom. De har anlitat samma advokatfirma som tog tillbaka $7 bn från Enron där Elizabeth Holmes pappa tidigare varit VP.
Här ligger en intressanta jämförelse. Elizabeth Holmes verkar få stå till svars för det som gick fel. Men Musk kan göra nästan vad som helst utan att det fastnar på “Teflon Elon”. Löftena om självkörande bilar har grovt svikit. De olyckor som självkörningen orsakat har bara långsamt börjar nå domstolarna. Och i SolarCity affären så attackerar Musk den stjärnadvokat som aktieägarna anlitat. Musk kallar advokaten en dålig människa som tränats av brottslingar. Musk säger att han inte har respekt för advokaten!
Så Musk verkar ligga på ett plan där han är orörbar och kommer kanske att bli ett slags helgon vi skall tillbedja och ge våra tillgångar/skattepengar.
Men Elizabeth Holmes verkar få stå till svars. Hon drar ju vanära över sin familj. Märkligt att ingen höll ögonen på henne när hon grundade företaget som bara 19-åring.
Också intressant att Jurvetson sitter i styrelserna för SpaceX och Tesla, köpte sig fri från SolarCity-härvan samt även sponsrat Theranos. Han började med att rädda Musk när Musk var pank 2008. Mutade/gav bidrag till Obama att lägga ned rymdfärjorna och fick in Musk i raketbranschen.

Hon uppträder på bilderna runt rättegången ofta i utslaget hår, vilket knappast är vanligt för åtalade. Hon ser ju ganska bra ut och mycket bilder fyller artiklarna. Det finns lite av hur man “hoppar på den stackars vilsna flickan”.
